Dance99 presents its 5th charity drive event, GIVING BACK CHARITY CONCERT 2017, this coming July at the Performing Arts Centre of Penang. Since 2013, the dance studio has dedicated their effort in contributing to the local community annually through dance related charity event. They are into their 5th year, this year. And they wish to target a funding that will surpass their previous year’s collection through sponsorship and kind donations from the corporate and public. All proceeds from the event will go to the Children’s Protection Society, Penang.

The concert includes dance performances from Mirabella, a professional Middle Eastern Dance troupe and students of Dance99, alongside with invited dance studios in Penang, namely K&T Dance Academy, Yi-Concept Dance Studio, LeQMo Dance & Art Home and 2 Five Steps Dance Academy. Various dance form will be showcased that night, which includes, Modern Jazz, KPOP, Lindy Hop, Hip Hop and various styles of the Middle Eastern Dance (more popularly known as Bellydance). Besides dance, this year’s concert includes a special Wushu performance by Ding Feng Wushu Academy. The Wushu Academy which provides one of the best Wushu training, in accordance with internationally recognised standards, will add variety to the show. Lastly, Daniel Lee, our very own Malaysian Idol 2005, will also be making an appearance at the show for the second time to perform a medley of English and Chinese songs for the night. The highlights of his performance, would be a dance musical theatrical item with local dancer, Ms Jocelyn Peh from the 2 Five Step Dance Academy, portraying General Ming Yi and Princess OK-Soo from the scenes of “The Myth” movie, made popular by Jackie Chan back in 2005. This masterpiece performance, choreographed and created by Ms Jocelyn Peh herself, was performed for the first time in Taiwan and now, for the second time in Penang at the Charity event.

This charity concert provides individual an opportunity to donate and help the society. The fundraising will be used to benefit the Children’s Protection Society Penang, and in providing monetary to support the children’s education and daily routine.
