The klpac symphonic band under the batons of Kevin Christensen, Ross Jones, Howard Ng and Mustaqim Abdullah will bring Penangites a range of classic and modern symphonies originated from Europe.

 

The klpac Symphonic Band, which was formed in 2009, is a community-oriented initiative aimed at providing a platform for wind and brass musicians to hone their skills and perform regularly. It was established to fill a gap in the local music scene where many wind and brass players who started playing during their schooling years were left with no avenue to continue after graduating. In LET’S GO EUROPEAN, they are going to show their talents with European symphonies such as Club Europe by Martin Ellerby, Michelangelo for solo Euphonium and Band, Symphonic Suite from Far and Away, excerpts from Symphony No.1 "The Lord of the Rings" and many more. Beside these, LET’S GO EUROPEAN also features solo performances by Yeow Boon Sim (Trumpet), Ian Chan (Alto Saxophone), Howard Ng (Oboe) and Chris Wong (Euphonium).

 

In conjunction with the International Women’s Day, penangpac is offering a Special Rate (RM23) for more ladies to enjoy this weekend in the theatre with the feast of European’s symphonies!

吉隆坡表演藝術中心管樂團 (The klpac Symphonic Band) 在該團指揮 Kevin Christensen、Ross Jones、Howard Ng 與 Mustaqim Abdullah 的帶領下，將為觀眾呈獻一場充滿歐洲當代與古典風情的交響樂演出 - 《歐洲樂饗》(LET’S GO EUROPEAN)，讓檳城的觀眾在自家也可以細細品味豐盛的歐洲音樂大餐！

 

吉隆坡表演藝術中心管樂團成立於 2009 年，是一個以社區為導向，旨在為當地管樂團樂手提供交流、磨練技巧以及定時演出機會的平台。這管樂團的成立，填補了校園管樂隊團員離開學校後無處可以繼續發揮所長的窘境。這次《歐洲樂饗》為觀眾帶來的精彩曲目包括英國當代作曲家 馬丁・埃勒比 (Martin Ellerby) 的 Club Europe、挪威當代創作歌手希格瓦特・諾斯蘭 (Sigvart Dagsland) 的《米開朗基羅》(Michelangelo) 之上低音號獨奏與樂隊協奏 (Solo Euphonium and Band)、電影《遠離家園》(Far and Away) 交響組曲、第一交響曲 (Symphony No. 1) 節選以及電影《魔戒》(Lord of the Ring) 主題曲等。除了以上交響曲，《歐洲樂饗》亦安排了精彩的獨奏演出，其中有 Yeow Boon Sin的小號 (Trumpet) 演奏、Ian Chan的中音薩克斯風 (Alto Saxophone) 演奏、Howard Ng 的雙簧管 (Oboe) 演奏以及 Chris Wong 的上低音號 (Euphonium) 演奏。
