SYNOPSIS
[ENGLISH] In a world riddled with social prejudices, Othello and Desdemona start off their interracial marriage against all odds, in pursuit of a happiness staked on the ideals of love and trust. But Iago has other plans for Othello. Continuing with our mission to “un-scarify” Shakespeare, we will perform this three-hour play in our popular 100-minute abridged format. Our performance will focus on canonical scenes, including “juicy bits”, acted out in their original Shakespearean English. Narration in contemporary English will weave these scenes to provide context, character analyses and clarification of unfamiliar expressions. As usual, the production will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A. We welcome you to share questions, feedback and experiences.
