A Peace Conference with the theme“Family as School of Love & Peace”to be convened atEquatorial Hotel, Penang on 15 June 2013 (Saturday), 8am-5pm. This conference is organized by Women's Federation for World Peace Malaysia (WFWP) and Global Women's Peace Network.
Today’s youth and family are bombarded constantly with the notion of alternative family patterns, immoral practices and a value-free lifestyle as the norm of the day. With the clash of traditional values versus the value-free lifestyle aggressively propagated by popular media, music, art and internet. Families have a hard battle ahead to simply survive.Despite scientific progress and economic development, the prevalence of promiscuity, drug, AIDS, violence and preoccupation with materialism are causing great problems in society.The family is the fundamental unit of society. The character of a nation begins in the home because it is stable families that produce good citizens and the virtues on which democracy depends.This conference aims to inspire participants to be good fathers and mothers in building a loving, caring family, society and nation for peace. 200 -240 participants from various NGOs, parents, teachers and social leaders, government officers, politicians, academicians and local community leaders of Penang will be taking part in this conference.
Registration fee is at a subsidized rate ofRM30.00per person, inclusive one lunch, 3 tea breaks, conference materials, certificate of attendance and special gift.
