CNY Cultural Night 2014

    God of Prosperity made an appearance during the CNY Cultural Night at Balai Rakyat Pasar Awam Tanjong Bunga.

    A beautiful transgender croons Mandarin songs to entertain the crowd.

    Lee Pei Ling, a 14 year old student who is also a singer with Astro belted out three covers including "I do believe", the song that propelled her to stardom. 

    A Chinese Flautist, Mr. Hung amazed the crowd with his talents.

    Sylvia Teh is no longer a stranger with the audience. At such a young age, she confidently presented "River Flows in You", a well-known Korean piano piece with two of her trusted friends by her side.

     

    Chinese stamps - Students from Han Chiang College set up a booth for visitors who wanted to try their hand at this ancient Chinese art. A variety of carved wood and Jade seals were availabe for visitors to choose from to make bookmarks for a small fee.

    Gotong Royong Menghapuskan Nyamuk Aedes, Sungai Emas

      JKKK Sungai Emas organised a 'Gotong-Royong' to clean up the the area around Jalan Sungai Emas on 8 Feb 2014.

      YB Teh Yee Cheu, Yong Bee & Teck San, Susie, Cheng Hoe, residents of Sungai Emas and MPPP workers jointly helped to clean surrounding drains of dried leaves and rubbish.

      The gotong-royong exercise started at 8:30 am in the morning and ended at noon. 

      20 Children to undergo Badminton Training

        Twenty children below the age of 14 years old have been selected to undergo a badminton training programme sponsored by YB Teh Yee Cheu. The classes will be held at Balai Rakyat Tanjong Bunga on Wednesday nights from 8pm - 10pm weekly. 

         

        Bantuan Balik ke Sekolah di Kawasan Sungai Emas, Batu Ferringi

          Batu Ferringi, 29 Dis 2013 - Sumbangan bantuan persekolahan kepada murid-murid fakir miskin kawasan Sungai Emas, Batu Feringgi dari Pusat Urus Zakat, Pulau Pinang dan Adun Tanjung Bunga, YB Teh Yee Cheu.

          Paint by Heart Charity Art Exhibition

            Paint by Heart Charity Art Exhibition was held at Balai Rakyat Tanjong Bunga from 16 - 20 Dec 2013 to promote local artists. It was jointly organized by JKKK Taman Seri Setia, The Art Tanjong Bunga and The Malaysia People's Right's Group.

            The organising team successfully raised RM3k for Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion and RM1.5k for Penang St. John Ambulance Association.

            "Culture and art development is the indicator of a developed contry," said YB Teh Yee Cheu.

            Four very capable and reknowned artists contributed to making this event a success. They are Jennefer Loo, Tan Eng Huat, Ong Peng Wah and Adam Baba.

            Jennefer Loo's collection comprised of Chinese brush paintings; Tan Eng Huat showcased his Chinese calligraphy works; Ong Peng Wah, watercolour paintings; and Adam Baba, abstract art.

            Each were different and special in their own way.

            YB Teh hopes to fullfill his promise to the residents in his constituency to transform Tanjong Bunga into a city of culture and art.
